.stowaway mishaps.

Just the other day, I was having this conversation with my Dad and brother.
About aeroplane stowaways.
You know, like in the movies and in the stories you hear about.

Where some poor dude, who's either running away from the vengeful loan sharks.. or the angry wife.. or in pursuit of being the first frozen man above 1000 feet.. or just from plain boredom..
For whatever reasons, they should do it with more wit and brains.

Like I normally say,
Why so Not-Smart wan..?

My uncle, who's been a pilot for the longest time ever, was telling us the latest drama at the airport.
And it goes something like this..

Flight from Malaysia to Johannesburg.
We land in Johannesburg, as per norm, and the air staff leave the deck off the left side of the huge 747.
Checked into a hotel to get some rest before the flight home the next morning.
Just as our heads touched the pillow.. the phone rings..
Hello, who's on the line?
South Africa Police.
0_O

*sits up straight away, round-eyed with shock* Yessir? Is there any problem?
*gruff tone* Ummm.. Sorry to disturb you, but there's been a.. uhh.. a.. an accident.. at your aircraft. It seems one of your engineers found a leg dangling out of your aircraft, while going through check-up rounds.
*confused*... uhh... A LEG, sir?.. As in, a human leg?
Yes. That's right.

(rush rush rush to the airport)

After much complications with the police and with the airport authorities and everyone else, the story of the stowaway was revealed.
The body of a Malaysian boy, of no more than 16 years of age, was found inside the compartment where the landing wheels of the aircraft retract.

Therefore..

High pressure + High altitude + very VERY little oxigen + almost freezing temperatures = not a very comfortable place to be in

So, apparently, when the plane landed in Johannesburg, and the compartment doors opened to release the landing wheels, the body half-slid out..
When the doors closed again, the leg got caught sticking out.
And was left there to be discovered by the engineers during post-flight rounds.

See, the thing that gets me baffled is..
If u wanna stowaway in the plane, why don't you do it in the cargo compartment?
Where its pressurized and regulated..?

I only found out a few days ago that the planes actually regulate and control the pressure and temperature in the cargo compartments.
Coz they sometimes carry animals like people's pets, horses, sheep and the like.

So.
In conclusion.
You wanna be a stowaway in an aeroplane..?
Don't la go and hide where the wheels are...!

Go buy air-ticket from AirAsia.
Very cheap only..!
RM9.90 can fly to London.

Cheaper than a McDonalds meal.

.outdated.

People of the world, I am so sorry for not updating.

But i've been so caught up the past month.

What with my birthday.. SuLin's birthday.. Christmas.. New Year's..
And to top it all off, I had to juggle my preparing-for-Australia with everything else.

Okay, so i wrote this post quite some time ago, but i'm only now getting around to posting it.
So, here goes.

Birthdays Galore!

My Birthday came and went.
I love it when it's my birthday.

Woohoo!
The one day that I can ask everyone to do stuff for me, and everyone will be more than pleased to accommodate me.

I'm the Queen of the Day!

Anyway,
My lovely parents weren't supposed to buy my any presents, since recently my dad bought me an iPod video (*more proud moments) and I bought myself a pair of Guess jeans (with my mommy's blessings, of course)
So that was supposed to be Birthday Presents, kao tim.

But my lovely parents
Are lovely.

Bought me a TAG HEUER watch.
I love my mommy and daddy.

*grin from ear to ear*

And my godparents bought me a Coach clutch.
I love my KaiMa and KaiPa too.

I will upload pictures when Jo decides to share. hehe..

Next on the birthday list is Khoo Su Lin.

We (Billie and I) planned to drive up to Penang on her birthday to surprise her.
Brought WaiLuen and BB as part of the surprise.

At first, we wanted to make this really elaborate surprise thing for Sulin.
Then we realised, NO NEED LA..

Billie: Okay, must call SuLin's mom to make sure she erases all the msgs from me just in case she busybody with her mom's phone.
Me: Do we wanna wait at the restaurant for her? Or let her sit down and walk up to her?
We should park our car far FAR away just in case she doesn't see it!
Should we wait behind the door and jump out at her?
....
...
Billie: But then ah, she so blur. I'm sure she won't know peanuts la.
Kaling: ...
... True oso.

Anyway, the surprise went well. As expected.
Sulin so blur.
Surprise her anytime oso can.

Oh.
And we bought Sulin a iPod Nano.

Happy eh, Sulin?

We wrapped it in the Box-in-a-box-in-a-box-in-a-box type thing.

:D... Mean, I know.. but FUN!

1st Layer: Altec Lansing speakers box, which, due to its huge ass size, had to wrapped in brown paper. Coz the normal wrapping paper wouldnt be enough

2nd Layer: A4 paper box, which was lined with newspaper, and filled with blank A4 paper so it was HEAVY to the max!
3rd Layer: Canon camera box, on which we wrote "Hope you like it!", coz Sulin actually did want a camera..
4th Layer: Nokia handphone box, and we wrote "You think we so RICH meh?!"...

hahaha.. imagine SuLin's damn-blur-to-the-max face when she opened the Canon camera box to find more boxes..

Final Layer: was the iPod Nano box itself, on which we wrote "haha.. YOU WISH!"

And when she opened the iPod box, she didnt even believe that the iPod was real!

Silly girl,
started opening the little flaps where all the components are kept.

SuLin: o_0 ... eh, no more ah...? a REAL iPod?!?!?!

I tell you,
it feels damn good to surprise someone with something nice that you know they'll love.

She spent the whole night just staring at the iPod in its new sleek shinyness.
And she also spent the rest of the night and most of the next morning with her ears glued to the iPod and was dancing retardedly to music only she could hear.

Anyway, it felt good to go on a road trip with close friends.
Haven't done that in a long while.

Having WaiLuen along was an absolute pain.
Pain in the stomach.
'Coz we kept laughing til stomach pain.

He's hilarious!

Sorry for traumatizing you with short towels and girly-talk.

I'm sure you're getting used to it though.

Anyway, here are some pics from Penang.
Of us bumming by the beach.

Of us bumming in the room.

So, in conclusion.We bummed.
