Winter holidays are over,
And i'm increasing becoming depressed as the new spring session of Uni starts.

Was filling in my calendar with all the assignment due dates.
Omg. I don't think i've ever done anything more depressing..
The assignments just go on and on and ON and ON and ON..

Anyway, I shall reminisce about the winter holidays.I spent two crazy weeks in Melbourne, visiting two marvellous people I know,
Billie Tan Pui Li and Khoo Su Lin.

Oh wait.
Hang on a sec.
Rephrase.

I spent two marvellous weeks visiting two CRAZY people, Billie Tan and Khoo Su Lin.

Same difference. :D
(or as Geordie would put it.. same shit, different smell.. )
... yes... he's full of class, that one..

Anyway, back to my Melbourne Winter Hols.
Went there prepared for cold weather, as forewarned by my Sydney relatives.
But I still wasn't prepared by just how miserably COLD it is in Melbourne.
It's a different kind of cold here in Sydney, I find.. (And i'm not just bias towards Sydney)
But in Melbourne, it was cold that blows down your collar...
..into your sleeves,
...and makes your knees shiver,
...and all you want to do is hunker down somewhere and never move.

In Sydney, it's cold, no doubt, but still, when the wind blows, it's not as bitingly horrible..

yeah.
so.

Billie bought herself a car.
That bitch.
I'm jealous.

hahahaaha.. I kid.
You know I love you, dude.. *innocent smile*

Went to the Melbourne Aquarium in one of our early trips to the city.
Was forced to protect my ears from the biting wind by doning my uncle's beanie, which makes my look like a hobo. But who cares.. my ears are warm!!

Chilled at The Nott, which I understand is the "Monash Uni Hangout Pub"..
But the night we went there, there was some sort of other Monash function going on in the city, so there weren't that many people there...
But managed to see the Monash gang (mostly Billie and SuLin's classmates from Monash back in M'sia)
Was good to hang out with good ol' Malaysians again.
It felt like home.
Felt Good.
:D

Made chocolate tart, from a stolen recipe off CousinMayAnn, coz she made it the other day and it was TO DIE for..
It was a semi-success-semi-failure.
Mostly it was a hilarious experience.
We didn't have a mixer in the house, so we went out to Coles and bought a hand-mixer (which we returned the next week, just coz we didn't wanna use it anymore.. hehe..)
But the stupid mixer was SOO hard to use..!!
We ended up just having flour ALL OVER the place..
In the end, we managed to put the tart in the oven, but I think due to the uneven thickness of the "handrolled" pastry, we underestimated the baking time,
And ended up having chocolate tart at 1am..
But it was yummerlicious..
:D

Went to Carribean Market, which epitomizes the word "FLEA market"..
There's everything and ANYTHING there..
It was interesting to walk around and see what crap people are selling.
But the whole place was nice, there was a huge lake with a little mini waterfall, with resident ducks swimming happy-chappily..

And mini-rides like a chairlift over the lake, trainride around the lake.. and basically everything you can think of to do with the lake lah..

Melbourne Zoo was good too!.
Managed to get out on one of those RARE days of good weather.
Fluffy baby tigers, flipping sealions and prowling lions.
The highlight of the day.

Then we managed to do the very thing that I was longing to do the WHOLE entire holiday.
Can you say... ROAD TRIP!
woohooo!!

Went down the coast to the Mornington Peninsular,
Which is basically wine and beach country.

Visited this little cute cottage-type house, where they make hand-made chocolates, Mornington Peninsular Chocolates.
Every little itty-bitty piece of chocolate is like heaven..

Also went wine-tasting, although we didn't have a CLUE what we were doing.
Free alco.
:D

WHAT...!!! Spit the wine into the thingo-that-looks-like-an-olden-day-peeing-pot..?!?!
And waste all that good wine..!?!
How DARE you..!

Then we went to this place called The Enchanted Maze
Which is pretty much a park, where they trim the lawns n everything to mazes and little parks for people to play in.
So pretti-ful!!..

There was this little petting farm with ducks n goats n sheep inside.
So Billie and SuLin went inside the enclosure, coz SuLin wanted to pet the animals.
I stayed outside, coz I didn’t wanna get shit n stuff on my shoes and jeans. (new jeans lah, come on..!!)
So SuLin wanted to go pet the goat, but she wasn’t sure whether it would run away or anything.
But I told her that the goat wouldn’t attack her, that it would let her pet it. (i mean.. normally animals in the petting zoo would let you PET right..?!?!?...)
So she touched it, with the lightest feather-est of touches
and it turned around and jumped n HEADBUTTED her!!!!..

*rolls on the floor gasping and clutching at my side from laughter*

Lightly lah of course, the goat headbutted her..
But she was SHOCKED out of her life and screamed out loud!!
Me and Billie were laughing our pants off for the rest of the day..

even thinking about it now, I’m laughing.
*huge grin*
hehehe..
hehe..

Then towards the end of the trip,
We had dinner at this theater restaurant called Witches in Britches,
Which is basically a themed restaurant,
The whole building is shaped like a castle, full with spooky Halloween-type deco and stuff..
The show was Desperate Housewitches, and i have to say that the vocals of the stage-actors was very good.
All in all, we had a GREAT night out..

We took the train to the city and walked to the restaurant,
And being the vain-pots that we are,
Had to wear our new boots with our new Guess jeans,
Then while walking to the restaurant (very quickly, coz late edi).. FEET PAIN..!!!
Ahh, sufferage for beauty. hAHHhaha

So that's a not-so-short summary of my Melbourne Winter Holidays,
When the holidays were coming to an end, I started to realise how much money my family and I actually spend when we go over-seas on holiday.
I didn't exactly buy THAT much at Melbourne,
But calculating my expenses (i.e. food, transport, shopping, alco...)
Wah. Damn alot lor..

In conclusion,
When I grow up and have a family,
When we go on holiday, we're SO leaving the kids at home.
More money for myself.
:D
