.flurry of costumes and cookies.

halloween came and went, with many stories to tell. start from the beginning. thursday was the last paper of the semester, the one that everyone looked forward to and yet dreaded. looked forward to the end of the semester, but dreaded the horror that was MARKETING.

just as soon as i stepped out of the hall, i immediately felt a weight lifted off my shoulders. n i kept thinking to myself "oh i can't wait to go home and keep all those HORRIBLE thick-ass textbooks of mine".. as usual, van, hilyah n i were one of the first few to step out of the hall, i dont know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. we either know too much or too little. both ways, its scary. haha..

first stop: Wisma diCor. funny story to that, something about it originally being Wisma PadiCorp, but who likes PadiCorp? sounds like a corporation for PADI. what's padi in english? paddy? The Paddy Corporation Building. hmmm.. right. so, i think nature tooks its course and wiped out the first n last letters of the building name. hence stands Wisma diCor. sounds so much more high-tech, if you ask me. even if it doesnt mean jack-squat.

funky letterings aside, we (we being hilyah, van, liyana n the bunch..) spent like ages in this little costume rental place. to tell the truth, when we first stepped in, all i saw were two racks of multicolored cloth hanging rather dejectedly in one corner. n i thought to myself "shit, what have we gotten ourselves into".. then the lady (Sue, i think her name was), directed us to their folio which consisted of mounting boards and cut-up pictures of the costumes. all-in-all, it looked rather sad and not at all what i had in mine. then Sue (who wasn't the friendliest woman in the world) took us to the back of the shop. it was like she pulled a curtain, n WHOA, there was ALL the costumes in the world.. racks n racks of dresses, velvet, lace, capes, devil-horns, angel-wings, and even a boob-shirt or two. (yes, a boob shirt)

well, we picked out our costumes and left. hilyah and i went to meet arvin to practice for the night's performance. which got us even more scared i think, coz hilyah n i kept forgetting out lyrics and arvin kept forgetting the chords. but after a while, we were like "whatEVER, dont give a flying fish about it"..

note: thank you to van and hilyah, for helping me with dressing up n stuff.. =)

needless to say, we were fashionably late (as usual). and NO, i was NOT driving fast. someone please tell hilyah that driving at 100 is NOT fast.. yeeshh..

costumes that caught my attention. of course, eiran and his troy-gladiator outfit. eiran has sexy legs. hahaha.. of course van's outfit was cool as wednesday addams, it won best dressed. actually van tied up with this other girl that dressed up as some can-can woman or watever. i still think van should've won. whatever. van, you owe me a drink. i screamed myself hoarse cheering for you!.. li's outfit was hot. everyone thought u were super hot that night! (li, dont get all bigheaded). haha.. you should've seen arvin's face when he saw you get out of the car. hahaha.. oh man..

*speaking of arvin.. some things are meant to be never EVER EVER be seen..

anyway, all-in-all, the night was only so-so, not because of the organization (i thought the degree kids did a damn good job of the night, esp with the decor), but i think mainly because of the lack of people.. and a bad sound system.. but we had a good time and we took alot of good pictures.. which i shall post up when i'm feeling less lazy...

right. i just realized that this entry is damn freaking long so i'm stopping here. next stop: Teapot Cafe for lunch with BillieTan and Sulin.. mmMmmm.. hungeringz..
